LISAMCFADDEN is a New York City creative with over 20 years in the fashion industry. She studied millinery while earning her BFA in Fashion Design from American Intercontinental University in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated with top craftsmanship honors. Prior to heading to the fashion capital, she worked as a bespoke fashion designer and wardrobe stylist in the city’s burgeoning film and music industries.
Lisa furthered her experience by working as an illustrator and technical designer with major NYC companies such as J Crew and Gap,Inc. While an assistant to renowned fashion designer, Stephen Burrows, her hats were first displayed with Mr. Burrows’ fashion week showing which landed in Women’s Wear Daily. She garnered rave reviews for her costumes and headwear designs for the Off Broadway, sizzling 20’s jazzical, “Scandalous People” by MyChurch Productions. The designer periodically continues her theatre work with Broadway Milliner, Arnold S. Levine.
Lisa handcrafts headwear using couture techniques, the finest traditional materials as well as unexpected findings. Her specialty styles and signature Crush Cap are designed with the goal of complimenting the wearer’s individuality. Lisa’s hats have appeared in several magazines and on digital platforms such as National Geographic Your Shot, CBSNEWS, and Fleet Magazine. Recently, Lisa merged her interest in photography and writing into LMMNews, her bi-monthly subscription publication. She is on the board of and serves as the editor-in-chief for the Milliners Guild newsletter. Lisa has also been published in Hatalk Magazine and her hats have been featured in the fashion graphic novel, Winona, Inc.
