Mary Lafayette - a native of San Francisco, California and Omaha, Nebraska - is a member of the Local 764 Theatrical Wardrobe Union in New York City, and in the process of joining the Local 705 in Los Angeles. Mary is a Celebrity Wardrobe Stylist / Founder of Fashion Luv Joenz [FLJ], a styling and image consulting company; a subsidiary of Lafayette Creative Group, Inc, also owned by Ms. Lafayette. FLJ was established in 2001, within 6 months of Mary working her first freelance gig as an assistant stylist. Lafayette Media, another subsidiary of Lafayette Creative Group, Inc., is the public relations and marketing brand founded by Ms. Lafayette in 2013. The latest addition to the Lafayette Creative Group umbrella is All Things Denim, an online boutique that will sell new, custom and repurposed denim from clothing to footwear, and all things in between.
Mary is a natural when it comes to fashion and style, which resonates in her work and attention-to-detail. Working in the fashion and entertainment industry as a freelance wardrobe stylist for almost 20 years, as well as several years of retail experience as a visual merchandiser for H&M, Diesel, Bebe and Nordstrom, has solidified Mary’s love and passion for her craft. “It’s in me, and will always be.”
Ms. Lafayette continues to work on TV and Film productions, as well as represent Make-Up and Nail Artists, Photographers, Wardrobe and Hair Stylists, and Costume Designers, through, Lafayette Creative Group [LCG]. LCG is based in Brooklyn, New York, with the artists residing in Los Angeles, Maryland, Miami, New Jersey, New York and Mumbai, India.
Outside of fashion and entertainment, and within the last few years, Mary has worked as a freelance project manager in advertising, education, fashion and pharmaceutical for Bednark Studio, SET Creative, Pfizer, McGraw Hill, Verizon, Bath & Body Works, and Tommy Hilfiger.
In her spare time, Mary enjoys all things art and culture, traveling, reading, swimming, shopping, participating in activities with her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, and spending time with family and close friends.
